In contrasts
If the latest trending colour is one you adore, or just a colour that is prevalent to your flair through-out the house, use it as a contrast to a white kitchen. Strong and bright colours give you real kapow. Doesn’t have to be expensive to change either. All you need to do is put it in areas like a splash-back and cover it with clear glass. When you want a change, just remove the glass, re-place your backdrop with a fresh colour, a poster, bright wallpaper, or artwork, and then refit the glass. Voila!
If you don’t like a real kapow contrast, use a much softer shade and add a bit of pop with some extras that can easily be changed up. For example, coloured barstools, bright light-shades or assorted crockery displayed on an open shelf
As wall colour
By using wooden blinds, putting colour on the walls, and keeping the bench and cupboards in neutrals or white, it enables you to make simple changes with colour and details. This way you can easily stay up to date and on trend in the most inexpensive way. A spruce up, and a new look, is just a fresh coat of paint away
If you have a dark bench, you can create a chic modern look by painting a darker colour on the walls, replace your tap-ware and cabinet handles to black, and contrast them beautifully with high gloss white cabinetry. Stunning!
In the details
Simply add your colour in the details. The easiest way to stay current is to use today’s modern kitchen colours. Juiche it up with flowers, knick knacks, colourful tea-towels, wall art etc. Display a couple of your kitchen gizmos like a bright red jug and a matching toaster. Or a coffee machine and stand mixer.
Something as simple as a couple of large glass jars with colourful patti pan cases in one, and lemons and limes in the other. Put whatever flirty bits of colour you choose and changing it up will be a breeze.
